The Nifty500 Ahimsa aims to track the performance of stocks from the Nifty 500 selected based on the principles of ‘Ahimsa’ and are classified as ‘Green’ band. The classification of each company is provided by the Ahimsagain foundation.

Highlights

  • The index has a base date of April 01, 2016, with a base value of 1000
  • Stocks forming a part of the Nifty 500 index at the time of review are eligible for inclusion in the index
  • Stocks categorized under the ‘Orange’ and ‘Red’ band as identified by Ahimsagain are excluded from the index
  • The weight of each stock in the index is based on its free float market capitalization
  • The index is reviewed semi-annually in March and September
